Asiamiles Redemption on AY
 

I was wondering if anyone has any experience redeeming one way Business class on AY using Asiamiles, I need to fly between London and HEL, I can get it on BA but I was hoping to try AY.

What's the issue? Shouldn't you simply see if there's availability, and if there is book it?

One-way awards are not available on AY, as a simple look at the Asiamiles site would tell you.

I did try, but only BA flights are showing...

Which bit of "One-way awards are not available on AY" are you finding hard to understand?

I saw your comment after replying to sxc, I just don't think there was a need to acknowledge it but don't worry I'll be sure to reply to your valuable comments in the future.

Anyway I normally don't check the Asiamiles website because I never redeem outside CX and I usually just call MPO for that. Like I said I was just wanted to check the availability because EF doesn't show any on AY, when I tried using the CX website, it was only offering BA as I've mentioned above. It's all clear now. Thank you very much.

I met the same thing as you did...
When I check CX website for AY reward, non AY flight showed up, even I trying many different dates. However, when I checked the reward seats on BA, there were plenty of AY availabe. Thus, I think this is the issue of CX website. I suggest check it on BA and then call MPC to book it.

Why is this so hard to understand? You CANNOT use AsiaMiles to redeem one-way tickets on AY! It's absolutely clear on the AsiaMiles website.

Hi wyskevin, as christep has pointed out AM redemption rules prohibit one way redemptions on AY. However AY redemptions if part of multi-carrier and OW redemptions are still possible.

That's exactly my plan!!
I plan to redeem a OW multi-carrier reward ticket as below:

KHH-HKG(KA) 412miles
HKG-LHR(CX) 5983 miles
LHR-TLL(BA) 1106 miles
HEL-TXL(AY) 694 miles
TLV-HKG(CX) 4749miles
HKG-KHH(KA) 412miles

The summery miles are 13356, below 14000. It takes 115000 AM to redeem this C ticket :)

Guess were here on the same boat.

You have to redeem AY70 as a round trip.
Just as a note, returning on an airline not AY is OK.
