Check-In question
 

Hello all,

Will be checking out of my hotel on Dec 4 and going to Shenzhen, return to HKG on Dec 5 evening for my flight back to SIN on CX 715.

Would I be able to check in at HKG on the afternoon of Dec 4 if my flight is the next day I intend to only have hand carry going to Shenzhen.

I will most likely do it at the airport. As I will most likely not take the AEL to the airport.

So, you would check out of your hotel, go to HKIA to check in, and then go to SZ? That seems like a big time suck to me unless your hotel is very close to the airport. Or are you trying to offload luggage before going to SZ?

You are right. I am going to offload luggage.

I don't wanna do it the AEL way as I won't be able to use the train ticket same day.

It doesn't have to be the same day - you can check in at the in-town check-ins on the day before you catch the AEL/fly.

Does the AEL ticket have a valid date? Will it be ok if I check in on Sunday and take the train on Monday?

Yes - it will work. AEL tickets don't have a specific "valid on" date, except in that the second sector of a same day return needs to be used on the same day as the first one.
