best first class lounge in HKG

I have my first flight coming up on CX F from BOS - HKG - SIN. My layover in HKG is going to be about 4 hours max. Which first class lounge should I visit if I want to take full advantage of the amenities? CX 811 usually lands between 4:30AM and 5:30AM. The SIN flight leaves at 9AM. Is there anyway to find out which gate I would be leaving from?

CX has 2 first class lounges, The Wing and The Pier. There are plenty of detailed review threads in this forum for both, as well as many travel blog reviews online. Please do a search first.

Both F lounge opens at 5:30 so if you arrive well before that, the only lounge you could visit will be wing J.

Also the train at HKG will not operate after 6, it will be a long walk to Pier end. So I guess you might want to visit one of the Cabanas at Wing F at 5:30 sharp. There are only 5 of them and do fill up very quickly.

After you came out of cabana, you could take the train to Pier F for a proper breakfast.

normally I'd say Pier, but after a number of recent visits to the Wing F, I'd just say go to the closest. The restaurant in Pier F has been significantly dumbed down from opening, meanwhile Wing F has been "re-aligned" with Pier F by Plaza Premium. You have similar-looking dishes. Food-wise, it's very very similar between the two at this stage. Wing has the Cabanas which might be a little more important for someone stepping off a 16 hour long-haul. I prefer the feel of Pier, that home-type coziness to the granite / shininer feel of the wing.

However, you could also try Pier J....it might even be less crowded than Pier F, is far bigger, and ironically has even better lounging spaces. If you do go to Pier, you could have food at the restaurant in Pier F, then migrate to Pier J. Sounds bizarre but I've now done this a number of times.

I've read the reviews and I know that there are TWO lounges. I'm not asking how many first class lounges there are, I'm asking which one is better from first person point of view with where I'm coming from, where I'm going and the time I have available. Either be helpful and add to the discussion or don't waste your time with unhelpful comments.

also, I read it was recently renovated.

my plans have changed so now I have almost 8 hours in HKG between flights. that may be enough time to visit both Wing and Pier and take get all the benefits.

Yes, I'm pointing out there are only two so you can easily do a search. You won't know the gates until the a few hours prior, but you can get an idea by searching for the same flight numbers on HKG's website for arrivals and departures for the past few days. Pier F is by the higher numbered gates, Wing is at Gate 4. The reviews on here as well as the travel blogs are already from a first person perspective and there has already been plenty of discussions on pros and cons of each. So you can be a little less lazy and do some research for yourself.

But since your flights have changed now and have 8 hours, go to the Pier first if you want to get a spot for the massage (which I personally think is overrated). Otherwise you'll have plenty of time for Pier J, F and the Wing.

The Pier is nice and quiet when I have been in (early morning/late at night) and feels quite exclusive.

However I like The Wing's buffet selection. Shame I can't take a plate of the wing buffet down to the pier!

You should consider going into town for a few hours. However nice they are, 8 hours is still a lot of time to burn at the lounges.

I had really good food and service in Pier f tonight. Food was as good or better than anything pre-PP.
