Fiji Airlines Code Share

CX code share with the Fiji Airlines operated flight HKG-NAN FJ392 / CX6901. Am I correct in assuming that I would earn CX miles and club points (assuming using MPC number) if booked via the CX flight number, but not if using the FJ one - and thus if flying on an FJ booking better to use an AA account and at least earn the miles (FJ partner with AA)?

Thanks

I don't think so...should be the same as this scenario: Earning club points and miles on a QF marketed but EK operated flight

Since FJ is not OW, I would guess the answer is the same...

I believe in this case because it's CX-coded any metal counts. CX used to make it clear but that's no longer the case (so might not hold true anymore), and I believe even most agents are clueless (so if they say yes, note the name and cite in the future; if they say no, you might still get it). Of course only if the ticket has CX-code. If you bought the FJ-code prime you will not get anything.

It would appear that Asia Miles are awarded if booking via CX.

No!! Careful OP, you are in for disappointment.

Asia Miles
You can earn Asia Miles (and in this arrangement, it looks like you will, based on jacobsleather's post above).
https://www.asiamiles.com/am/en/abou...000ad21c39____

Club Points
You will not earn any Club Points. Club Points are only accrued on CX, KA and OneWorld alliance partners. You must be flying OW metal.
http://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_U....html?switch=Y
Click on "Terms and Conditions relating to earning club points" (the second tab), and look at point #2.

"Club points can only be earned by flying with CPA, Dragonair or any other oneworld alliance airline."

The fact that you will be awarded a full does of Asia Miles does not imply you are therefore entitled to Club Points.

and it dose mean also if I book CX to Auckland and travelling on codeshare I only earn Asiamiles but not club points?

How come CX does not honour its own elites for purchasing on its own website and on its own metal...

Was looking at it yesterday to decide buying CX code-share vs outright FJ, CX website shows Club points earned during a dummy booking for CX6900 / CX6901

To the two posters above, it has always been a great mystery why you by the Cx codeshare on many partners' metal (flights to mainland China come to mind), since historically they're more expensive, yet don't offer CX lounge access or MPC Miles.

However, with the change to Cx Club Points, might there be a change? At least the fellows picture above implies so. It'd make a lot of sense if so....encourage you to buy the codeshare. Just i won't be the first one to try!

The CX codeshare on HKG-USM is consistently 2k-4k HKD higher than the PG fair. The justification to buy codeshare is hence debatable;

Whereas on HKG-NAN CX codeshare is only 1K-1.5K HKD higher than FJ, for 20 club points I think it's pretty straight forward; the Q is if the lower-fared class tickets are gone, and you're looking at 30-40 club points with a 1K-2K premium, then it becomes a no-brainer...

Totally agree with this logic.

I just don't want to be the guinea pig.

CX's terms and conditions for MPC / Club Miles seem to make it clear you will NOT earn Club Miles for this, whereas the screenshot you show does. I hope someone tries and reports back...although I think you gotta beware there's a chance you don't get Club Points! You'd have decent grounds to stand on given the screenshot, but who knows with CX.

If Club Miles do indeed accrue, CX should update the T&C accordingly.

My experience and my mom's experience are that both CX*/CA FLTs and AA*/AS FLTs earn club miles and sectors (no experience since the new club point system). I believe the T&C have always been written this way, just so they reserve the option no to give club points I suppose.
