What is the situation that all cabins are zeroed out?

Hi FTers,

I am curious as to the situation that when all cabins are zeroed out (First / Biz /PEY /EY), what's the real situation? Is this an over-booked situation or just that CX will not accept any further booking? Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

Thanks!

All zeroed out, and no more seats for sale do usually mean the following:

-Flights in the long term future, several months out: This means (almost) for sure the flight/route is going to be cancelled, or at least there is a good risk the flight/route will be cancelled.

-Flights hours to days away: Good chance the flight really is oversold. Or indeed cancelled (lacking equipment, for example, or low bookings.. more an issue with LCC's, but I've seen Full Service carriers doing it as well if there is an alternative to rebook everyone)
