Keeping BP Intact

Every time I've flown ex-JFk on CX, they always detach my boarding pass. They've always given back the full BP ex-YVR and ex-HKG.

Would it be possible to print out the BP from OLCI and then go to the counter to ask for the BP to be printed on CX stock but when I go to the lounge and board the plane, just use the OLCI paper version?

In that case, will they take the paper away but if they do, what should I put in my coat when they hang it in the closet since they always ask me to put my BP in it.

I do it all the time with various airlines and never had a problem (although they will see that the agent did print out a CX stock BP).

I assume they would stick one of those yellow sticky notes they have,it's not that they would stick your mobile phone if you have a mobile BP :D

Shouldn't the old boarding pass get invalidated once a new one is issued? Ain't this a security breach??

You can always get another BP printed at the airport. You lost the first one. Just ask.

What I do is to check in at the desk and get paper BP.

I then go on the phone and claim mobile BP.

I then again go to the lounge and get another printed just in case.

My record was 3 BPs for the same LHR-EDI segment plus another one on my phone.

There is one part of the world you should avoid losing your BP; South Asia. They are obsessed with stamps. If you miss one, you gotta go back and get it stamped.

You could just ask for a replacement boarding pass at the gate. They'll just duplicate on the replacement one.

No it would not get invalidated, unless ofcourse there was a seat change.

Even if your seat assignment changed,it would not normally be reflected if they scan your BP when entering a diffirent airline's lounge/security/duty free. (This is not true for every airport/lounge).

Oh, I didn't mean actually lose it. Tell them that you lost it and get a new one which you pocket. Then use the original one with the stamp to board. I did this once with CX at HKG. No prob.

Exactly. I'm not in the business of collecting BPs, but if you are this is the way to do it. they'll print you more no problem if you "lose" one....the only catch is i thought thr old ones are electronically invalidated. Either way shouldn't be a problem.

Even if the old one is invalidated, show up at the gate and present it. They'll check your ID and then assume that the old one was invalidated erroneously.
