The AA arrivals lounge T3 used by CX in London, is closing at the end of the week 29 February:

Not sure what the replacement lounge will be at the moment.

CX quietly put the following on their page on LHR lounge (http://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_H...tails.LHR.html) in regards to the American Airlines Arrival Lounge:
"American Airlines Arrival lounge is closed for renovation from 29 February 2016 to early June 2016.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you."
There is no mentioning of alternate arrival lounge.

It seems AA will be using the BA Arrivals lounge at T5. Let's see if CX follows suit. Don't know if it's worth it to go from T3 to T5 just to use the lounge.

I would feel the same too about going to another terminal to freshen up unless I have a meeting and there is time.

Back in the days when I used to frequent this route, I've always found the AA Arrivals Lounge to be excellent. There's nothing better than a shower and a hot breakfast right after your flight at 6am before heading elsewhere.

Personally, if arriving at 5 am, and knowing I probably can't get into my hotel until midday at least I would be happy to spend the little bit of effort to have a shower after a 12+ hour flight.

Especially if there is a meeting at, say, 9 am in the City or elsewhere in central London.

Hi FTers,
Has anyone had any experience using an alternative arrival lounge at LHR while flying on CX 251?
We are a group of 4 traveling on J and hope to freshen up a bit before heading to town.
Thanks!
