StudentUniverse.com and Cathay Pacific

Hi All,

I came across studentuniverse.com booking website when searching for flight tickets between US and India.

This site has the lowest fare for Cathay pacific airlines.

How reliable is this booking website? Do any of you have personal experience with booking at this site?

I also have some points from previous Cathay pacific travel? How to use the points during/after booking cathay pacific in this website?

Thanks

StudentUniverse.com and Cathay Pacific

I booked a ticket on AA on that website about 15 years ago and didn't have any problems. No more recent insight, though. I assume you're a student? I vaguely remember being warned to bring a student ID with me to the airport although I don't remember if anyone at AA asked to see it.

As to your second question, you want to use AsiaMiles to upgrade? This can only be done from more expensive fares, and I'd be a bit surprised if anything you buy from a site like studentuniverse would qualify. You'd need to check the letter code for the fare class you buy.

Yes I have been using it for flights between US and HK for several years and never had a problem!

I never knew that AsiaMiles can be used only for upgrades. I thought I can use those points for some cashback. Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks for responding.
Do we need to be a student to book on this site?

If yes, do they ask for proof/student id during booking and/or at the airport check-in/check-out?

AFAICT you don't have to be a student to use this site (which makes sense). You must select your ticket type from Student, Youth, Faculty and Adult. "Adult" would seem to cover it.

Thank you so much.

... although it just occurred to me, -- perhaps your price depends partially on the ticket type you select.
