MPC Diamond year end dinner menu

Went to the MPC dinner last night in Shanghai as per invitation: Anyone else can share their own MPC dinner experiences in other cities?

As a token of our appreciation for your ongoing support of Cathay Pacific and Dragonair, we would like to invite you to an exclusive evening meal at the Pudong Shangri-la, East Shanghai.

The dinner will feature a menu designed for the occasion by the hotel's master chefs, and introduced by their talented culinary team. Each course will be accompanied by a different wine, carefully selected to best complement the flavours of each dish.

It would be our pleasure to have you join us for this gourmet evening, specially planned for a small group of distinguished Marco Polo Club members. We also look forward to the opportunity to meet you in person, and to hear your thoughts and feedback about our services.

Venue: The Summit Room, First Floor,
Grand Tower, Pudong Shangri-la Hotel,
33 Fucheng Road, Pudong, Shanghai, China
Date: Tuesday, 15 December 2015
Programme:
6:30pm – Cocktail Reception pavilion,
6:55pm – Dinner begins
9:00pm – Event ends

If you would like to attend, please reserve your place by replying to Jessie Jin on or before 29 November 2015 with your name, club membership number, mobile number and any special meal requirements.

Once again, we would like to thank you for your support, and we hope you will be able to join us for a great evening.

Yours sincerely,

Titus Diu

Seriously! lol

Being DM based in Hong Kong, we usually get close to nothing but most expensive air tix price tags! :D

We actually get nothing. Years ago I was invited to one event for Bottega prosecco, but that's it. I think I was invited to one event in Singapore when I lived there too, and I remember there were even MPC Gold members there because there were so few DM's.

I went to the dinner in Singapore a couple of weeks ago. There were around 40-50 pax. It was a nice dinner. Full five course at Flutes at the National Museum. Free flow of drinks.
I was told by CX staff there are currently around 200 DM's in Singapore but they expect that to drop with the changes by half.
I appreciated the dinner invitation.

Unfortunately a common result from being located in a captive market. I mean it's not like you all in HKG are going start flying HK Express ;)

So US DMs get Christmas presents and PVG and SIN DMs get evening dinner. How about EU DMs?

For UK based DM and GO, the London team usually puts together the following events:
  • Christmas drinks at The Ritz
  • Racing day at Ascot (with 3 course lunch + afternoon tea included) - usually in June or July

plus a couple of drinks/canapes events such as at an art gallery, or a movie viewing etc. (This year we had invitation to see War Horse and drinks at a CX marketing roadshow at Canary Wharf (or Manchester); last year there were some art gallery exhibitions + drinks, the year before there was a screening of a chinese film I think.)

But we don't get any gifts.

I'm not saying whether this is good or bad, I'm just telling it how it is... :D

As a HK based DM I was given 4 passes to clockenflap in 2014 (had to nominate which day I wanted). Nothing this year.

I am a HK based DM and did not even get a thank you for flying 1 million miles with CX...have given up expecting anything for Christmas a couple years ago.

I am in MNL, BKK and PNH often for work though. Might shift my address to one of the 3 (probably not PNH as I loath KA) and see.... If I don't shift airline all together (will start testing SQ to SFO and EK to MXP in the next 4 weeks).

Damn, I just moved from Shanghai.

Oh is that what that was. A crappy power kit or a crappy "Executive Gift Set?"

Wow, I feel so appreciated for flying 165k+ miles on CX alone.

I would be more than happy to trade the gift with what you guys get in the UK.

So for the UK it isn't limited to only DM but also include GO?
