Temporary closure of Cathay Pacific First and Business Class Lounge at Heathrow Airport
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhance our passenger experience, the Cathay Pacific First and Business Class Lounge at Terminal 3, Heathrow Airport, London will be temporarily closed from 26 November 2015 to June 2016 for expansion and renovation.
During this period, we would like to invite Silver, Gold and Diamond members of the Marco Polo Club as well as passengers travelling in First and Business Class to use the lounges of our partner airlines. All lounge invitations will be arranged for you upon check-in.
Reflecting our “Life Well Travelled” philosophy and our principle of considered design, this renovation follows updates to Cathay Pacific lounges in Tokyo (Haneda), Manila, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Taipei. With the addition of London, we look forward to providing you with an enhanced experience in the near future.

The 6th November, that would be amazing as that is the day we fly off on our holiday to Australia...
Would be a great start to our holiday!
Fingers crossed!

I think that there is a reasonable chance for the lounge to open around the same time as the third runway gets built (circa November 2025)

Sadly I really doubt the lounge is likely to be open before 2017.
I hope I am wrong, but Cathay seem very reserved now and although some say November, they haven't actually said that, in fact they are saying it is postponed.
Is anyone going past or in T3 to see what is going on?
With the Qantas lounge due to open early next year I wonder if you can gauge as to which one seems further ahead.
This has been poorly managed by Cathay since the original planned opening date of June this year.
One can only hope.

I believe he really wants (based on 6-7 posts he made stressing the need to reopen ASAP) the lounge to be open when he flies (which as he mentioned earlier is on the 6th).

Why so many lounge projects are late (QR lounges at DOH new airport, EY F-class lounge, QR/SQ lounges at BKK)? I can understand building something at the airport might be a nightmare, but they should add some contingency... Anyway, my next flight from LHR is in February 2017 and I hope I will be able to visit the CX Lounge

I will be flying out of LHR in two weeks. In case if the CX lounge further delays its opening, which lounge shall I go? BA Gallery First or AA Flagship?
Any folks here have had LHR trips recently and wanted to share?
I haven't been flying out of LHR for 2.5 years now, trying to avoid it at all cost until this trip
