CI lounge way better than old CX lounge (TPE)
As DM I was given the CI lounge and I was very surprised how great it was (J side, I can't imagine how F lounge will look). The ambiance was great. You feel like in an up-scale residence than an airport lounge. Cubicles of very wide and comfortable sofas, excellent dining area. The only down side is selections of food are very limited, and noodle bar is a mad house with no number so other people can just take what you have ordered earlier. Other than that, it is excellent, and definitely blows the old CX lounge away.
I hope the renovated CX lounge can be that much better. |
In contrast, I hate the CI Lounge. The ambience is way too dark for me and not possible to get any work done.

I'm not sure which I like less, the darkness of the CI Lounge or the neon green of the BR one. Here's hoping that the construction happens quickly for the CX TPE Lounge! |
Serously???
I find CI's lounge to be the closest thing to an underground air raid shelter. Food selection is so so once you actually look at what is offered. Besides I have had immediate stomach troubles the 2-3 times I've eaten in the lounge. So no more food for me there. Magazine and newspaper selection is non existent (last time they didn't even have the Taipei Times, and that was at noon time). F section is nothing to write home about, some strange a la carte menu is offered, but the atmosphere is so dark you almost feel like in a dodgy mainland massage parkour. And most annoying of it all.... 6 people doing nothing at the entrance, and the mysterious "VIP" rooms for the cronies and local "starlets". I definitely miss the old CX lounge, it might have been crowded, and food average, but at least they had a decent stock of English papers. |
Been to CI F lounge twice now and each time I was the only pax there. I agree with others that the lounge is way to dark that one can never really work in there. I tried their beef noodles from the a la carte and I was surprised to find out that it tasted so much worse than the one at CX lounge. Having said that, I still prefer CI than BR lounge. With all those neon lighting at BR, that lounge reminds me of a tacky dodgy karaoke bar in the 90s. Def a N O!
