I have lounge access. But how will this work? I'll indicate I want to standby for earlier flights at the time of checkin. Will I have to stay landside?

I assume if I go airside, and I so happen to be inside a CX lounge, they will page you over. But what if I'm airside either shopping, or hopping between lounges, at QF lounge, or golfing...etc. How will they notify me?

Yes, as expected, the loss of PEY gave you a chance to move to an earlier flight without penalty, perhaps earlier than you would hope.

They cannot page you when you are landside. They usually page passengers in the lounge. If you are outside, I am uncertain if or how they will contact you. I never received text or email on standby, but that was perhaps because I showed up quickly after their page.

If you hop to another CX lounge, you can tell them about the standby and have them scan your BP. If you are elsewhere, you may have to check back at the lounge.

No go. Claim all earlier flights were fully booked.

Ended up on [regional] J on the original [pey] flight.
