Waitlist Priority questions
 

Hi I have been having trouble clearing waitlists for round trip flights where both segments are on waitlist (for business or first class using Asia miles).

I'm a lowly green member.

What I wonder is if I'd have better luck if I tried as two one way flights. This would cost more miles but it's a trip I have to take. So I'd be happier to at least have one of the legs using miles and pay for the other leg.

What I'm trying to figure out is what is the Cathay wait list priority?
Sure I know higher ranking members will get their upgrades first, but what about a one way vs a round trip?

Each way is cleared individually. So it makes no difference.

By the way, as you mentioned business and first in your post, and also upgrade, are you asking PEY to J upgrade, J to F upgrade, full redemption J, or full redemption F?
