how to search for an award space of CX first class from North America to HKG, with HKG being the destination? I want a connection in between so I can ride a longer flight. Is it possible? All I came up with is a direct flight from LAX to HKG.

there is no connection between LAX and HKG. Depending which FF you are using, you can use CX site to check for AM. To check award spaces for other FF programs, you can use the BA or JAL partner award site to check.

What about from HKG to LAX, still no connection? I use BA for AA FF

Is JFK to HKG distance the same as LAX to HKG?

No.

JFK->YVR->HKG on CX may be an option. Otherwise CX doesn't fly intra North America routes. You can call your FF program to check availability.
