Baggage Interline: CX to CI
 

Hello

Is anyone able to confirm if CX will let me check my luggage through to final destination if on separate tickets?

AMS to HKG with CX
HKG to TPE with CI

Should get checked through to TPE but check with CX first before assuming.

If the CI flight is within the minimum connection time you can check it through. Please have the other flight details available.

OP has two hours, well in excess of the MCT. So that should be fine. I am more concerned about the time needed to pick up luggage and re-check in in AMS.

I am flying:

LGW to AMS with BA
3 hours in AMS
AMS to HKG with CX
2 hours in HKG
HKG to TPE with CI

Originally i was hoping that BA would check the bags through to TPE as they have an interline agreement, but as its all on separate tickets I was told they wouldn't.

As such, i'm hoping that 3 hours in AMS is enough time to collect my bags, check in with CX, and that they will be able to check through to TPE.

Otherwise, i'll obviously have problems in HKG

I've done it in plenty of times from SFO and KUL. Helps a great deal to have the CI BP printed for the CX agents. Good luck at AMS.
