Traffic Restriction

When using the CX website to explore redemptions some flight combinations have a small "TR" logo next to the flight. And there's a footnote saying that this means "There is a traffic restriction for this flight." Does anyone know what this means?

I agree, which flight?
Other than YVR-JFK, what other 5th freedom except for some short ME stuff does CX still have?
Don't think they still hve JED/RUH-AUH/DXB right? or they did before???

SO if I had to guess it's probably 889?
OP, you should be able to click on the TR button and it will tell you what restrictions you have.

I believe HKG-YVR-JFK, reminds the travellers they might also need a Canadian transit visa.

I heard the travel restriction between YVR and JFK has to do with the amount of passengers they can carry for a certain period of time.

Were they redeemable at all?

I think I saw them on some legs when I did a PVG-TYO search (via CX, not efficient but was just curious)

HKG to LHR via ZRH

CX doesn't have traffic rights for the sector ZRH-LHR, which is operated as a code-share by British Airways. You can't buy a single ZRH-LHR through CX.

Any 'CX' flight ZRH-LHR must be in conjunction with a long-haul CX flight.

Hence the traffic restriction.

It's a BA flight - the combination is a redemption.

Traffic Restriction

Perhaps the system's just coded to flash 'Traffic Restriction' when there's a non CX flight involved?

Sometimes it shows a 'visa required' when showing some (rather ridiculous) connections via DXB or something (was something like a SIN-LHR search showing SIN-HKG-DXB-LHR).

Don't think so. Only HKG DUS LHR had that tag too - all the other combinations including DOH, CDG, DEL did not.
