Quickest/Efficient HK Arrival
I am soon to fly to HKG for the first time - I'll be arriving at 9pm on Dragonair Business Class.
In no particular order, I will need to: a) Visit an ATM for some cash b) Pick up an Octopus card c) Visit the Arrivals Lounge for some food d) Take the A11 CityBus (it stops right outside our hotel in HK Island and saves multiple train transfers) I understand that HKG is pretty big, and as it's 9pm with heavy luggage I can't afford to trek back and forwards across the terminal trying to tick these things off my list. So, can anyone guide me on the best way to achieve this with minimal hassle? I'm not sure where the A11 bus-stop is in relation to the Arrivals Lounge, and whether there will be an ATM and Octopus card machine near to the bus-stop. |

Out via A or B --> ATM (not Travelex!) --> MTR kiosk for Octopus (near where the information desk is marked) --> Arrivals Lounge (head for the Plaza Premium one, CX/KA Arrivals is opposite and operated by same co) --> Head back up and down to bus terminal. Arrivals Lounge will house luggage carts. |
1. there're non-Travelux ATM at the junction heading to bus stop (right) and Arrival (straight down escalator or down the lift) as well
2. If you sure you'll take A11/2/0 when leaving, you can get round trip A1x coupons from Citybus kiosk (turn left after get to the bus bay, you'll see them on left side). Cheaper than just pay directly on board 3. MTR kiosks are always busy... If you will get the bus ticket you can get Octopus after get into town from service counter in any MTR station |
If your arriving flight is parked at one of the gates that require you to take the automated people mover to get to immigration, taking the elevators instead of the escalators from the platform to immigration could save you time.
