Checked baggage in First
Hi
Next month I am due to disembark a cruise in Hong Kong and fly in First on CX back to LHR. CX weight limit on checked luggage and a cruise don't really add up. There are two of us travelling each with probably 3 pieces of luggage each. I am just trying to see how well enforced the rules are at HKG for CX First passengers. Many thanks jimmyw9 |
You're limited to 32 kg each, it will get refused if you go over. I think that's due to LHR.
As for pieces they may be flexible. |
You will need to pay.
I just carried products back from HKG to ORD. 175KG of product in 5 suitcases, plus my personal luggage (1 bag). I had 6 bags; they charged me for 4 pieces. |
Flying to the US, I have gotten both 2 and 3 bags at 32kg each. Perhaps I had Oneworld status, which gave me an extra bag. Normally Biz and F get the same allowance. I'm not sure of the allowance to LHR. I think their website is pretty clear.

HKG-LHR is weight base.
You would get 40kg from F + 15kg as an OWS= 55kg, normally you get additional 5kg, but seriously, I don't really see CX ground staff making a big fuss to F pax over a couple kg. So the problem is your "3 pcs each person", is it 20kg each bag or 32kg..., the later one might be a bit... You can also get 15kg from cabin baggage as F Pax, try to ask for one of the over-size/weight carry-on baggage tags. Maybe a bit late but you should have booked JL, you would get 32kg*3pcs=96kg by default. |
