Upgrade

Just wondering, i will be flying from lhr to hkg soon. What would be the possibility of getting an op-up if I'm marco polo gold and BN1?

Let's say if I got BN2 and I'm a DM on your flight, I would trump you for that operational upgrade. But that being aside, depends on how many DM there are ahead of you.

Or if the flight is even overbooked or not.

No overbooking, no upgrades.

and depends on the flight. In my experience, opup are more frequent on flights operated by 77H but not so often on the 77G since theres more premium seats (FJW) on the 77H. I've had 3/4 PEY-J opup between HKGLHR this year, all on 77H. The 4th flight was a 77G.

But thats just in my case and my luck this year- as often discussed here, opup is not guaranteed. IMHO, one shouldn't 'expect' an upgrade, so to avoid disappointment.

ps CX GO is not that high up the opup ladder, esp between HKG-LHR, which is a DM/ DM+/ J/ F heavy flight anyway...

Depends if it's a day flight or night flight. Night flights are more DM heavy and you have less chance.

Day flights are less likely to be overbooked though.

Let's put it this way, I have been BN1 most of the time and I only get opt up for ~20% of the time.
