I'm curious if the YVR-JFK (and return) route in PEY gets the same service as the longer portion to HKG such as welcome drink, hot towel, amenity kit etc - all of which you get YVR-HKG, but none of which I experienced HKG-KUL.

Also wondering if the YVR-JFK red eye gets a departure meal or breakfast near the end.

Yes, YVR-JFK-YVR will get the same long haul flight service standard.

CX 888 gets a departure meal, not breakfast. Welcome drink, hot towel, amenity kit (in PEY, eyemask, socks, toothpaste, teeny toothpaste), OJ/apple juice/water shortly before landing.

Yes, the YVR-JFK route will receive long-haul service. However, you won't get a new set of amenity kit if you are continuing on the same flight to HKG
