Lost Camera in CX F
I left a point and shoot camera on my seat for JFK-HKG (I'm positive it was on that flight) and was hoping for some advice on how to get it back if possible.
I only realized it was missing when I got on my connecting HKG-TPE flight. I alerted the ISM who took down my info and supposedly relayed it back to HKG. I also e-mailed [email protected] and called their lost and found department. They said that nothing had been turned in off that flight yet, but as it was already on it's way back to JFK, they would check again when it arrived in NYC. I'm thinking that if the HKG cleaners didn't find it/turn it in, it's probably a lost cause at this point? One other thing: I'm pretty sure it was under a duvet when I deplaned. Any chance the laundry facility would find it if for some reason the cleaners just wrapped it up accidentally? Thanks for any and all advice! |
I left a brand new cannon kit with 3 spares lenses in f on my way to Amsterdam & wasn't even out of the airport when I was contacted by cx ground staff. However last year left a brand new coat in f on milan Hong Kong & reported it as soon as I got in lounge & realised the fact I had left it on the plane. The baggage people in hkg were useless.

Got nothing back. I was pretty bummed with CX HK, as I thought I had alerted them in time. Did the same thing HKG - SIN in J with a kindle (i am apparently careless), and they had the kindle waiting for me on check-in for my SIN-HKG return flight. Good luck to the OP in getting his / her stuff back. |
Thanks for your replies! Seems like a mixed bag for whether or not lost items get found/returned. Fingers crossed it turns up, but it's out of my hands now I guess. I was able to dig up the serial number from a warranty card too, but no idea if it will help.

I left kindle no 1 on my flight from SIN to HKG and they delivered it to the gate for my onward flight to ICN.
Alas Kindle 1 disappeared again a few months later after a flight in F (J service) from TPE to HKG never to be seen again. It was the same day I sent back the main course….. Kindle No 2 is never out of my sight…..particularly if I complain about the catering ;) |
I left an iPhone on board ICN-HKG in F about six months ago. While I was in transit on my way to LHR sitting in an F Wing cabana, I was asked over the PA to contact the front desk. I hadn't even realised I'd lost it!
Now that was impressive. |
A couple of years back I was on a group trip MEL-HKG and connecting to NRT. Another member realized that he left his coat in the overhead on the MEL flight after arriving in NRT. it came on the next CX flight to NRT

I left a wrapped gift on the floor in the closet of 2A on a HKG-JFK flight a couple of years ago. I was standing in the line at Immigration when a CX ground staffer in a red jacket came running up to me holding my package. (He was out of breath, having run from the aircraft.) I was truly impressed by the level of service. Compare to the year before when I left a rather large item in the overhead in LH F BOS-MUC. They never noticed.
I'm more careful now when preparing to deplane. |

I'm more careful now when preparing to deplane. I'm surprise it was a ground staff....and not the actual FA from your flight? How did they recognize you? |

Just for some gags. I've once left a pineapple on JAL Domestic from Okinawa. I(My local friend) called them and they would not let him pick it up without my verbal consent (Because I was already at NRT when the pineapple is in HND). I ended up telling the NRT Lounge staff to help me sort it out (by then my friend left HND already) and they would only keep in at HND and not to send it to ITM or do COD delivery.

I agree that they are useless in Hong Kong. I left an iPad on board tonight and I called them within 20 mins. They called back saying that they have found nothing. It would have been in the seat pocket and would have been hidden by the magazines and a plastic bag.
I've got insurance but I find that this is really poor service and would have expected more. |

Haha did I miss something, or was it a PINEAPPLE? :DIf it was me I would just let them share it amongst the staff

Curious, house insurance? or Amex's insurances? |
