proper crediting to aa on cx flight

I booked a cx ticket on I through an agent and gave him my aadvantage number at booking. My account number did show up in my eticket just now, does that mean that it will be properly credited?

No, it must show up on your boarding pass.

Your agent must also know that it's AA and not Asia Miles.

If in doubt, call CX up yourself and give them the number or wait till you check in and give the check in agent the number.

It also has to be in a fare class which earns miles on AAdvantage.

As a reference to OP, the chart for this can be found at http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/ea...hayPacific.jsp and is very important to look at to see if you will be getting miles. Just about any Y-class fare that is not full fare will earn 0 miles.

I'm confused as to what you (OP) mean by "booked a ticket on I..." Does that mean the I fare code, as in business class? That would earn 125% AA miles.

See this thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...mentation.html from your friends in the AA forum who experienced delays in miles posting.

thanks. yes, it was for an I fare class. I wanted it to show up on AA as I also get 8000 miles for the promo that they are running. I shouldn't have any of the problem associated with that thread as it is a direct flight run by Cathay. I'll keep the BP just in case.
