HKIA Minimum Transit Time

Ok, so I am flying AC15 from YYZ-HKG arriving at around 1pm, then transferring onto CX420 HKG-TPE. What is the latest time that I can check in at the transfer desk in HKG? I will only have about 1 hour from landing to departure time to get sorted out.... meaning its a little tight.... Help?

What an unique question to the CX and/or Hong Kong forum!
This is the first time I see someone asking such a question!!

Check in closes at -40 minutes.

Two choices: Get AC to through check you onto CX (if it is same ticket), or use on line check in (but make sure AC through check the bags at least)

Do you have bags?

While this forum doesn't have the best search function or layout when it comes to finding answer. This topic is definitely not one of them....

CX won't transfer your baggage if it's less than 50 minutes. They will tell you "we will try our best, but no guarantees." As another poster said, you should try to get AC to tagged your bags all the way to TPE. If that's not possible, you should *run* to the transfer desk and get the luggage information key-in to be transfer to CX flight before the 50-minutes cushion that CX implements.

Now, if the bag is late, I believe CX will do free delivery to your local destination hotel/home? (CX offered to freely deliver my bags to my home in TPE free of charge when the same situation happened to me twice before. Tell me I don't have to wait at airport.)

AC15 is scheduled to arrive 13:15, while CX420 depart at 14:25.
That's more than required. Whether it will make it / any delays....that's another question.

Those are flight times. If the bags are interlined and link that's more than required. If the pax had to physically disembark the plane, walk to transfer desk, the transfer desk person to key-in the luggage transfer request, it is on THAT time that needs to be 50 minutes or less, not the flight times.

.......and in OP's case, taking AC originating at YYZ...it WILL be interlined.

OP seems to want to ask what if they can't, hence our answers.

It's people like you that make this the least helpful and friendly forum on FT.

Congratulations! :td:
