A380 vs 747-8
|
I've never flown the 747-8, but for a passenger in my view A380's experience is what the best they can expect from flying.
It's a tough decision fon an airline: 747-8 is "cheaper" than A380, lately they placed a big order for A350s though. Delivery process and order size is important too, both of them are great aircrafts so would great to fly onto |

The 747-8 can carry a lot more cargo than the A380, follow the $$$'s.

I think 748i though I haven't been in it (and have been on the 388 on many routes including HKG SYD, SIN NRT)
|
I for one want them to pick the 747-8

A380 - If it means sharing the plane with more tour groups (and Mainland tour groups at that), no thank you.

Thanks but I think Cathay will prefer 广之旅 $$$ (or RMB) than let me burn miles. Let me get back to 打 the inventory manager's 小人.

An A380 may make more sense if the route reliably has the traffic to pack the plane, while the 747-8 offers more flexibility and may be better suited for routes that need more capacity than a 777-300 but can't be counted on to fill the A380.

If you check CX’s Facebook page, they have posted about a 1/20th scale B747-8I cutaway model being on display at the Peak Galleria tomorrow (20 April 2013 from 10am to 4pm). From the photo, it seems to be a Boeing related event (there’s no CX logo on the model).
If someone can help me post the link here. I saw it on my phone but cannot access Facebook on the computer I’m using. Note: This is not official news that CX has chosen 747-8I. Just interesting that they relayed this news but it doesn’t mean anything IMO. I might take a quick run/hike to the Peak tomorrow then.. hope the sun finally decides to show up in HK! |
