Osaka Flights

I'm looking into flying from HKG to KIX and it appears that there are two
flights with business class seats, cx566 (333) and CX 502 (773) , can someone confirm if they are the regional seats that are similar to the economy plus seats or are the new economy class? Since those flights do not offer 1st class seats, I'm assuming that are the regional ones.

Also, Japan air does not fly direct to KIX from HKG, what other airline flies direct?

333s and 773s are the old regional business and economy seats. The new regional business class is not in service yet (I believe the first 773 is currently still under retrofit at XMN). However, CX506 and CX 502 does operate a 77W or 747 with the new Cirrus J or herringbone J respectively on certain days of the week (subject to last minute swaps though). The new economy and premium economy product (not sold, usually upon request by MPO elites) might also be offered if you run into a new/retrofitted 77W or 747. 747s and certain 77Ws also offer first class. Check the schedule below.

For HKG<-->KIX, the following airlines fly direct:

Air India
ANA
Peach

There may be more but that's all that I know of. Hope this helps.

Please read the FAQ. Also, CX has no plane that only has Y, so it can't be "the new economy class" if you are booked in J.

Don't think about the equipment type too much. Between now and departure time, CX could change the aircraft especially on regional flights. CX is famous for playing musical chairs on them, sometimes even after OLCI opens. Just pick a flight that suits your schedule.

All 744s have the herringbones, but as JALPak said equipment swaps happen often on regional routes.

As close to the front as possible as the lavatories & galley are at the rear.

Does this mean they will swap to another plane with F seats or swap to ne with no F seats?
If one is booked in F will be get reimbursed the difference if the plane is downgraded to a two class plane?

Yes they can downgrade the plane to ones without F and even to ones with regional J seats. If it's a last minute downgrade, you probably will receive some compensation but if this is just part of a longer journey, don't expect to get too much.

So in the even it's downgraded, should the F passenger expect to at least get back the extra points paid for F. Will that passenger be assigned J? Would J passenger still be in J? What if the downgrade was made to a plane with more J passenger than seat? Non-voluntary downgrade to Y? wow..

My guess is you are not using AM for this redemption right? You need to refer to your FFP's ticketing rules for points refund guidelines.

What kind of meal would we expect to receive in J on the flight that leaves KIX 10am for HKG?

Also, any impressions of the Lounge Pacific? Is there a JAL lounge nearby CX departures? (I am AA Plat with access to lounges when flying oneworld).

Thanks.
