Cathay to get first A350?????

"but the company did say that one of its two launch customers, Singapore Airlines, has shifted its planned aircraft deliveries into 2015 leaving only Cathay Pacific to receive the aircraft in 2014."

I thought Qatar was the first airline to receive this aircraft

Cathay has said it will put new cabins on the A350- so 2014 is too soon for a revamp!!!- considering new economy only came in 2012

so it is probably inaccurate

Could be a misprint. Although this isn't strange in the aircraft industry. With constant delivery date changes, cancellations, etc. it's easy for other airlines to move up and get advance delivery (should they choose to accept), or, for late buyers to actually get the aircraft first (if no one wants to take the early delivery, a late A350 buyer could, ironically, be one of the first airlines to receive the plane.)

Does anyone have a quick/brief summary of all the aircrafts CX was a launch customer?

The B777-300, and arguably the A330 (CX was launch customer for the RR powered version, but not for the aircraft as a whole, think that was Air Inter)

Definitely a misprint.

I used B787 as an example.

B787's maiden flight was December 15, 2009. It was not officially delivered to NH until September 25, 2011.

A350 just rolled out for ground testing 6-7 days ago. There is no way that any airlines (including CX) will get a A350 delivery.

Didn't realise A350 will be 3-3-3 til now.
5.61m vs around 5.28M for A330 and 5.86m for 777...

Pity, I really like the A330 2-4-2.

I love the 2-4-2!!, i thought the 787 will increase the number of aircraft with 2-4-2 but most of them have gone 3-3-3!!!!

comparably the A350 3-3-3 will be more comfortable than the 787

Seat width will be roughly similar to current A330 2-4-2 (17.8 inches)

Not as good as a 3-3-3 777 though (18.3 inches)

And I for one hate the 3-3-3. 2-4-2 is cosy.

At least not 3/4/3
