A friend of mine and I will be arriving in HKG on CX and connecting to another CX flight. I am in F and my friend is in J on both flights. Either one of us have status in CX and OW. Can I sponsor him to the FC Lounge?

The new wing looks great! Will have to try it out next month ^ Only small thing I'm not a fan of is the Haven.. The seating just looks a bit cheap like the seating you'd find in a take-out place.. not like the seating you would find in a high end restaurant. I think the restaurants at FCT, BA FCL, SQ TPR and even the TG FCL look classier and more luxurious.

IRC, only MPC GO/DM can guest 1/2 (respectively) into the lounge. Not sure about F passengers.....

AUSBT's article. Looks great and I absolutely love the look of the cabanas, but the Haven seems too dark and enclosed for my taste... |

+1 guest is a oneworld benefit when flying in F
MPC Gold: +1 guest to J lounge MPC Diamond: +2 guests to J or F lounge OW Sapphire: +1 guest to J lounge OW Emerald: +1 guest to J or F lounge Anyways, OP doesn't have status to either. Just flying F without any status might not have guest access. But he can always ask the counter, given his friend is already flying J and have access to J lounge. YMMV. |

No, its benefit of both MPC and oneworld. To clarify:

The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld airline. |
Sitting in the lounge restaurant right now waiting for my a la carte food off the menu.
Will be spending 4 hours here. Spent 45mins in the showers. Had a nice shower, shave and change of clothes after a midnight flight into HK for transit to Sydney. Showers are same design as Swire hotels. Having stayed in EAST hotel in HK it is very similar with small differences. Some issues minor and I'm nitpicking... there's no rubbish bin other than the one below toilet paper which is not very convenient; there wasn't a tissue box in my shower; the hand held shower really sucks and there's no water pressure; the hot water intermittently hot than cold and hot again with no adjustment. Square basins are a bad idea, as experienced in EAST the corners can never be cleaned properly and suffers badly with age. Hope they keep everything clean. Restaurant. Buffet was always empty and seems like they can't keep up with the food offering. Restaurant is only at approx 50% capacity as well. Don't know how it will cope at 100%. The buffet does have a good selection when there is food. New food comes people rush to it. The a la carte menu had a good selection beef, chicken, noodles etc. After ordering was told it takes 20mins, only took 15minutes and I ate some salad while waiting. Serving size seems more of a tasting menu then full course. Nice selection of desserts. Very busy lounge and I still prefer the QF Syd First lounge because of better selection of food and much more open space, although probably half as many passengers in the QF lounges. |

Sorry they took away the menu before I had a chance to take a photo and didn't bother to ask for it back.
Will post a photo of the beef I got when I get a chance. Other people looked at me when I got served the dish because most people didn't know of the special menu :) So I had another 2 hours to spare and used up a Cabanna and loved it. Had a long bath reading another chapter of my book. The tub is massive, around 6feet! Can fit at least 3 people :) Again hot water from the showers were lacking, but the tub hot water was perfect although I didn't need to use cold water too much. I left a comment when the attendant asked me as I left. The air conditioning in the Cabanas are much better than the showers. Looking at the food menu and the drinks menu it seems Peninsula has plastered themselves on bottom of both menu. Time for my fight... |
