if anyone is friendly with the folks at HK & Shanghai Hotels (aka, the crew who run the Peninsula), they should know the date as well

So, CX are either putting out mixed messages, or nobody knows ... is going on. F Checkin this evening was adamant that the magic date was 6th Feb. However Wing reception upstairs, next to the, err, F-annex, reckon "by April"....

Another possibility is that there is a partial re-opening (no inside info on that).

They really should do something about it...I was kicked out of the Pier because they were closing at 12:30am but my flight to Manila was delayed until 3:45am. From gate 32 walked all the way to the Pier, only to be told that i have to walk back to The Wing...

I asked F check-in yesterday and was told 12 February.

So now we have answers ranging anywhere from 8 February through April...

8th Feb was my guess that CX want to open it in time for Lunar New Year but I guess it might be more auspicious to open on "Chor Saam" - the third day of the New Year?

Was told by F check-in that they would open before CNY.. I guess that's what they want to do, since CNY will be a pretty busy period and they can certain use the extra lounge... But whether they can practically open it in time is another matter...

Maybe we should start book on the opening date (and perhaps also time, eg morning, afternoon) with a prize to the winner!

I think the space is too small for a partial re-opening, and they will probably want to open The Wing First Class all at once to great fanfare. I can't wait to see what they've got in store!

"Early February...before CNY...target is 6th, but might have a bit of delay"
