Priority Tags - just an observation
Checking in with my wife for CX710 CMB-SIN, the agent tagged the checked in bag under my wife's name and put a biz class priority tag on.
Normally, we'd ask them to tag under my name for first class priority, but didn't bother to, this time. Swear we saw the bags disappear onto the luggage belt that way, with the blue biz priority tag. Fast forward a few hours and the bag pops out in SIN with a red first class tag on (though it seems to have come with the other biz class bags). Interesting, i thought, that someone bothered to take a look at the bag, probably saw my DM luggage tag and bothered to change the priority tag. (Now, if only someone were to open an authentic Sri Lankan curry restaurant in SIN...i wouldn't be checking in a bag on our next trip to CMB) |
Honestly speaking, IME most airports (except maybe HKG) don't really differentiate between F and J priority tags. They just come out as one big batch.

Or in SIN last night, in random order

yes, excellent service. I checked a bag on AA connecting in Los Angeles to a CX flight. The AA priority tag was there, but when the bag emerged in HK, it also possessed a CX First tag. Someone is paying attention.

Could be your bag tag fell off and they put on a new one, but since it happened twice sounds like they're taking care of your first class bags, which is quite nice.
:) Only in Asia though of course. |
As bags are tagged by the baggage handlers, they cross reference name with ticket and (not based on your baggage tag) will tag you appropriately. This is what makes CX special and unique amongst other carriers.
