Interlining CX to UA..
I'm flying CX SIN-HKG, arrival in HKG at 0515hrs, and thereafter on another ticket on UA flying HKG-SEA via NRT.
Simple question: Can bags be interlined at SIN and collected at SEA? To make it more complicated, my travel buddy who is on the same UA PNR as me will only meet me in HKG. Should we just clear immigration and check-in curbside? Both travelling in Y for HKG-SEA. Thanks :) |
cx should check bags al the way through--just make sure that you show them the entire itinerary if it is on separate tickets.

No problems with interlining.
Your BP will only be issued in HKG. |
The PNR has nothing to do with interlining the bags in this case. When your buddy checks in, he/she won't be interlining, so everything is fine there. Buddy just checks in as normal with checked bags.
And as others have mentioned, you won't have any trouble interlining from a check in at SIN. The only hiccup might be if there is an extremely tight connection, but in my experience HKG ground staff is pretty good at moving bags around. If they allow the connection on the PNR then your bags should make it. |
