Light and ben
Hello. I have just arrived in Hong Kong (cx 881) with our group of 26 passengers.
During the flight my hand held controller for the entertainment center did not work. The wires on the end appeared to be fraying and needing to be replaced. The controller not working also prevented the light from being able to be turned on. Thus for a 14 hour flight there was no entertainment and no light for me to use to at least read my book. I had paid extra to get that exit row seat and it was a full fight except for 5 empties in business and 2 middle seats in economy. The flight attendants were very nice and gave me a $50 voucher, but I don't think that comes close to the amount it should have been. She told me to contact customer service. Our group paid over 50,000 USD for this trip and as the group leader Im hopeful that Cathay Pacific can understand where I am coming from. Any thoughts? |
I took CX883 several weeks ago and my seatmate sitting in 31C could not use the IFE, either (no idea if you happen to seat on the same aircraft & same seat). I clearly remembered the Purser told him that, "if there were a seat in Business available we would surely have moved you over" (J really was full). While I will not say whether I agree with this (I thought I, who have status and the only one who was greeted in that section, should be moved to J and he can have my seat, 31A), this should be a good reference for you. On the other hand, AFAIK, he did not get any voucher at all, and was only offered to move to a seat at the back if he wants to use the IME.
