Min load before cancelation.

Looking at an upcoming leg SIN-HKG and the load is extremely light for an A330.

Will CX run it regardless or does this route see load cancellations?

CX736 Apr 29th.

You would also need to check the inbound flight....if it is full, not likely to cancel.

Apr 29th ??

What date is it today?

Have you flown with any asian carrier, specifically airlines like CX, SQ?

They do not cancel flights because of light loads. But then again, their loads are hardly 'light' by the time the flight comes!

Thanks for your feed back, I agree that it's a still a long way out. But as far as available seats it looks like only a handful were selected, thus prompting my question. I am more used to US flights, and my previous Asian flights have been with Eva (BR) but the quality isn't there anymore.

Does anyone know what CX736 arrives in SIN as?

Thanks again for the feedback.

Load

HKG to SIN is one of CX busiest routes in the whole network and there are lots of last minute bookings.

CX 736 departing SIN at 10am
That aircraft usually arrives from HKG the evening before - CX 635 arriving at 7:05pm or CX 735 arriving at 6:05pm - one of these planes will go back to HK as the 8:10pm flight, and the other one will overnight at SIN.

Booking may look low now, but 10am is a prime time flight for connections from SIN to North America.

I won't worry about it unless there is a mechanical related matter. Airlines really don't cancel flight unless they are necessary. Even with a light load outbound, the return might be heavy.

Seat map is also not reliable - because CX does not allow advanced seat assignments on most of their cheapest fares used on their intra-Asian flights unless international connection flights or elite passengers. Or passengers paying for exit row seats!

Not true... Anyone holding a reservation above V can pre-select seat. However, it is common that Asian travellers booked through TAs do not have advanced seat reservation.

TPE, PEK, and PVG can be different, though. CX / KA sometimes "merge" FLTs if the load is really light. However, the frequency that these routes have (which makes it possible to cancel FLTs yet not affect PAX too much) cannot be compared to SIN, so I also believe this is less of an issue for the SIN route.

Have flown this sector a few times on CX and SQ and the planes have always been full or nearly full. I would not worry about a flight cancellation.
