I believe they don't provide accommodation... unless its a hidden perk of J?! :D

Ha ... if they only provided accommodation. That's funny. Can you imagine the number of 23 hour layovers that would be booked up by people transiting through Hong Kong.
The only time I've had CX spring for a hotel room was when they were delayed 2.5 hours out of YVR to HKG and I missed my connecting (and last flight of the day) to BKK - they put me up in the airport hotel. |
I don't think so as there's a LHR connection at 23:55 that doesn't require an overnight stay
|
Probably not. You need to ask the ticketing office in the country where the ticket was issued.

What on earth would anyone at CX be thinking to provide anyone with a hotel for the layover ? Not even sure why the OP would even think an airline would consider this as part of a flight.

Definitely will not happen. Best go ahead and book your own

On a certain situtation I saw CX giving away free access to the travelers lounge for passengers (not sure why. They have CX sticker with flight number written on it) |

You may want to have an airport facing room instead of sea view one due to possible plane noise (unles you are a spotter that is) |
Accomodation will not be provided.
For your information there are 3 CX flights that leave for LHR before the CX253 departs the next afternoon. The evening of 3rd March has CX251 leaving at 23:55, and CX255 leaving at 01:05am. The next morning on 4th March there is CX257 leaving at 09:15am. All 3 of these flights depart before CX253, so if you wish to lessen your layover and there is availability, you should switch to an earlier flight. I recommend CX251/CX255 as it means you don't need to spend the night in HKG. |

OZ/KE do as a published benefit, others do this out of goodwill upon special request.

I'm pretty sure OZ/KE provide accommodation only when there is a forced overnight layover because of flight scheduling, unlike the OP's situation.
