I think it's a relevant enough conversation. I'm flying J on CX in a couple of weeks and am curious what happened to CathBoy / which route it happened to him on...

DGS822: Cathay currently has 24 773ERs...9 of them are with the new seats (77D). There are no guaranteed 77D routes until every 773ER is a 77D. At the moment, CX100/101 (HKG-SYD-HKG) is the closest you'll come to a guaranteed cirrus seat route (on 33E).

The JFK routes give you good odds...but you'll note here there's an unpredictable mix of 77A and 77D - it's classic Cathay ops.
