New CX lounge in SFO???
 
I heard from my friend that there is a new CX lounge in SFO. Anyone knows if it is true or not?

Let's say it is true.

But where they put it? (Terminal A is totally out of space, AFAIK.)

I had seen this posted as a rumor in a few travel blogs of something in the works, but have no way to verify it. However, currently CX is indeed still using the BA lounge.

No info on the Cathay or OneWorld websites. I assume there would be an announcement on something like this. I'm guessing your friend is wrong?

Your friend is correct. It is opening in mid-November.

Interesting! I was looking forward to direct boarding from the lounge on my upcoming flight in December. I'll take a nicer lounge though in a heartbeat.

And... just confirmed by the latest MPO email. It will be on the fourth floor of South Departures (unsurprisingly) with natural light and seating for +100.

Cathay Pacific will open its first premium lounge in the United States in mid-November this year. Located on the fourth floor of the South departure hall at San Francisco International Terminal, the new lounge offers over 100 seats with abundant natural light and design elements inspired by our Hong Kong flagship lounges. The lounge features our signature “Noodle Bar,” as well as a variety of Western and Asian dining options.

Dang, the one time I go via LAX instead of SFO, the new lounge opens. Oh well, maybe next time...
