We finally boarded CX288 ..3rd attempt. We stayed in hotels 2 days... but we were ready to fly qatar and buy new tickets if we weren;t boarded!

Does not matter. Done strictly by a.) status, and b.) when you showed up at the airport to sign up on the standby list.
