CX J hasn't been passing out slippers as part of the kit for at least the past 10 years that I remember travelling with them.

I can extend that time frame to 20 years - no slippers in longhaul J since 1993. Before that, I don't know :)

Well, they (Rimowa, that is) look cool & they are useful/reusable. Assuming they replicate the TG kits. Good reasons for some... ^

Besides TG, also offered on EVA, Lufthansa, and ANA premium cabins.

Rimowa kits seem to stick to *A..... did they sign a contract or something???

I would sooooooo love to see Rimowa kits on CX. Although IMHO Agnes b is not too bad, Rimowa is certainly more "classy":p

I sold all but one Rimowa kit on ebay. Nothing really that special about them. It is the contents I am interested in

I think most people are after the case, not the contents.

Afterall, how else were you able to fetch USD$100+ for each of them. :D

When leaving the plane, some guy last week was picking up the kits that were left behind by other pax. Everyone behind him was getting annoyed because he kept stopping.

Maybe he knew they were getting replaced and will become collectors items soon;)

I had a guy pick up my PJ's from F not so long ago - yuck, this is after they made an announcement to us all to leave them for recycling

They've been worn once and they are washable. I hope you don't throw your clothes out after you've worn them once.

Indeed they do. I was merely referencing my experience in collecting them (I have 5 or 6 now) from TG, as I no longer fly the other airlines mentioned :)

CX have a partnership with some organization in HK where they encourage you to donate/leave behind your F pajamas and they will wash them...and distribute it to the homeless.

mayodave Oct 5, 2013 1:18 am

Fellow passengers in F are unlikely to be homeless IMHO. I left them there to have them re-cycled as requested and this guy came along and scooped them up. Obviously a souvenir collecter, ( probably had a salt and pepper pot in his bag as well )

sxc why would you assume I throw my clothes away after I wear them once ? If you read what I wrote I explained I left them on the seat as requested so they can be re-cycled. In fact I normally travel with a set anyway as I am normally in business class as the first thing I do is change into them as soon as I get on board. I actually have a few sets I have kept for this purpose. so normally I wouldnt take a new set.

My point is that if someone wants to take them it's not "yuck" and at least someone is going to use them. Sure it's great that leftover ones are recycled but I don't think it's terrible that someone takes them if they are going to be enjoyed.

I much rather see CX donate them to charity / those in need, than seeing a greedy passenger picking them up on their way out the door.

Maybe FA's could collect F's unwanted pj's 30 minutes to landing, same time they do with the Y headphones / Unicef donations etc.

mayodave Oct 5, 2013 11:22 am

CanucksHKG you obviously understand what I was trying to explain to our new mod in training. I left them on the seat for people a lot less fortunate than I to get the use of not for some souvenir collectors collection. My wife would go mad if I brought home a sweaty pair of PJS worn by another passenger.
