Qualification for DM+

Given that I've already achieved my 120k needed for renewal in five months, I was wondering whether it's worth my while to see if I can get DM plus. Anyone have a feel for what the threshold is to get this?

You can get DM+ without flying 120K.

DM+ is the Invitation level of the MPC programme. It is given out at the discretion of CX. It is not based on miles, but it is based on your buying power. Say of a corporation, or a decision maker of a company .. or someone important.

You can't qualify for it.

In short, just keep spending and flying on F/J long haul.

I have heard 150k USD on CX alone (not other OW partners) will do it

Guy, isn't that the DM IN level? DM+ is for the top 1% of DM members in terms of revenue, isn't it? I heard it was at least 100k from full fare J or F and possibly more given the strong economy in Asia.

My understanding is the DM invitation is completely different to Diamond Plus, which is spending-driven. My question is on DM+, not on Invitation.

I also heard the spending required tends to move (lower in weak years to traffic, higher in strong traffic years), so perhaps the threshold will be similar to anyone who qualified last year for DM+

DMP = Top 1% in terms of revenue of DMs (spent on CX/KA metal only, believed to be the region of ~150-200k USD a couple of years ago, perhaps Optm can confirm this for us?), with additional benefits over those of DMs with the most significant being DM card for spouse

IN = Invitation only, has no correlation to BIS miles or revenue, enjoys DM benefits

I've seen two DMPs so far. While I've not seen the DMP card/tag in person, I've heard that on the lettering on the left hand side (where it usually says DIAMOND DIAMOND DIAMOND) that they have a rainbow shine on them instead of the "regular" shine.

There is not a predefined threshold for DMP. It has to do with money spent on CX/KA alone. Spending USD150K-200K on just one airline is not that easy. OP has to decide whether that is worthwhile.

You have to ask yourself is it even worth it (trying to be top 1% of DM in terms of revenue generation for CX.) The really only benefit is you get a spousal DM card and a dedicated DM+ team answering your calls and planning your trips.

If you have that kind of spending power, it may be worthwhile to be a top tier flier for another airline at the same time as CX DM?

If I could not get an early reset and I have no specific objective with my miles I would indeed start topping up another program. Perhaps even within OW like AA but just to have some other benefits when needed.

In the past few years I've gone for an early reset but this year I'll look to get Star Gold - useful to have options, esp. with CX's F lounge getting ridiculously busy (couldnt get anywhere near the dining room for breakfast a few weeks ago) and Centurion card dilution

There are some DMPs on this forum. Just do a search. I've decided not to go for DMP. Not worth it in my opinion.

I've just competed my 12th long haul F segments this year. But will put rest of my miles towards AA where I get double miles.

My wife doesn't need a DM card as she seldom travels by herself and if she does I'll put her in J or F anyway, so not much of a difference.

Apart from that spouse card, don't see much of a difference.

I've seen 4 different DMPs on various flights this year.
