Question about waitlist procedures
 

Hi guys, planning a family trip in the summer (July) and my wife and kids (2) are on "Diamond Priority" (the exact words used by the MPC agent.) So, just wondering how exactly would it work.

According to expert flyer the flight that they are waitlisted have the following availability.

F4 A2 J9 C9 D9 I9 Y9 B9 H9 K7 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0

Should I be optimistic that they would be cleared pretty soon?

Any time frame I should expect CX to clear them? By tomorrow? A week? A month?

DM helps, but a good TA can make a big difference. A good TA can clear that in a few hours. A bad TA will get you waitlisting forever.

for me it cleared in 1 day, but I was only looking for 1 ticket. With 4 I would not know, will likely also depend on your need, Y, C, F...

For just yourself, you can get seat guarantee. It should only take a few minutes to maximum 2 hours.

Seat Guarantee has always been instantaneous for me (GO)... :)

I'm really hoping my wife and kids can be cleared soon. I can't book hotels, limos, restaurants, dates with family and friends, etc. if my flight plan isn't set first.....

Waitlist = waiting for someone to cancel?
 

Hi guys,

Called MPC again about my family's waitlists. This time the agent said, "Sorry, but we are waiting for someone to cancel in order to give you the seats. They are already on highest priority."

Check with expertflyer and the availability for that flight is such:

F4 A2 J9 C9 D9 I6 Y9 B9 H9 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0

Again I'm new to the waitlist thing: so the only recourse is wait like she says?
