So easy to redeem a reward ticket.
My friend is a FFP member of Delta and it is very hard for him to get a roundtrip ticket from the US to Asia. When I called Asiamiles to redeem a reward ticket. The agent was nice and find the seats for me immediately. Thus, I book a free business class reward ticket from SFO to TPE (Transfer via HKG). The waiting time on the phone for the available Asiamiles agent is less than 1 min.
I am so excited about my coming trip to Taipei via J class. I chose the seats at upper deck. Last time I was in the middle seat on the lower deck and it was ok. The passenger next to me turned on his light all the time and I could not sleep well. Hope my seat will far away from others.. ;) Any better suggestion for the seat selection on 747A?? |

A 30-40 minute wait is pretty standard for us green members ..... and it's already an improvement from 1-2 hour waits even when calling at 2am.
But I do agree it's been quicker recently. |
Try languages other than Cantonese / English. If you choose Mandarin there is no wait.

This is an improvement. I used to have to wait even for Mando. Not so now! But it doesn't counter the fact that I haven't been able to call through to MPO and make the language selection from the original time of this post til til now (4:57PM)! Update (7:41PM): on my way to dinner, decided to try Mandarin MPO one more time (this post made me remember a request from parents to check for upgrades for Easter) Finally got through (I really believe there are TAs calling for customers, and they've gone off work) Got through to a Mandarin speaking agent within a minute. Completed my query (nothing going to Sydney before Easter, nothing coming back from Sydney after it ==> time to check VFC) The agent had a northern Mando accent ("hao lei"), though just to make sure, I asked could she speak Cantonese and she said no. She was nice enough to complement she can understand my Mando okay (how nice of her. After leaving Big4 H-share audit, my Mando has gone nowhere but south). |
Last time I managed to get through to a Mandarin speaker on Marco Polo, I specifically asked her where she is based and she said Beijing.
