Pajamas for CX Business

Is this true? I heard people claiming that if the first class is not full, it's possible for passengers in business class to ask for one.

Knowing that they are made by Shanghai Tang, I am tempted! Especially when I am going to be flying in a few days...

Can anyone verify it?

Doesn't hurt to ask but I wouldn't hold my breath. Maybe if you were a DM? Can you imagine going around business in the pj's only to have another passenger ask, followed by another? If you want the PJ's, will just have to fly F.

Yeah, I figured the most I will get is a "no". Not gonna get booted and parachuted out of the flight, nothing to loose. Heh.

But still, if anyone has past experience.... please speak up.

is the intent not to just toss the PJ's after use? i mean just like tossing the socks after flight and same with tooth brush, comb shoe horn etc. i never keep those and would probably not bother keeping the PJ's if i was a regular F travel person...perhaps the first set i might....but probably not since i have no use for most stuff in the amenity kits after the flight and even in my hotel rooms in asia...now flying from asia to the US where amenities in room without asking are not that common, perhaps i would hold the one i get.

PJs and inflight overnight kits are monitored and given out by the First Class purser. Even the inflight supervisor has no authority to give them out.

Besides if someone else sees you get one, don't you think there will be pandemodium afterwards?

I got one when in J recently. But then again, my situation was 'special' which I won't comment on. I of course did not wear it during flight.

I wear my QF ones around the house, they are great.

You can always buy the CX ones on ebay for not a lot of cash.

Spilled...

Well I had the reverse situation a few years ago on a transpacific flight. It was one of those daytime flights that I did not usually sleep. In the middle of the flight, the F/A approached me and asked if I could give her my pajama and she promised to have CX sending me one set ASAP (which she did and I got the PJ a week later). One of the F/As had apparently spilled a bottle of juice over the passengers or something like that nature... and this passenger needs something to wear while they dried his/her trousers and shirt.

I will agree with most posters here... CX is very stingy with its pajama and amenity kit and everything is carefully monitored and recorded.

I really doubt it... I don't see a J passenger getting a F PJ without some major incident that the F/As have no choice... I can see the purser passing them out to lifetime or diamond members but only in discrete, as an appreciation gift.

I had to ask for a set while in F the other day (CX841). I may have been asleep when they passed them out, but when I woke up 2 hours into the flight they weren't sitting on the ottoman.

A couple of times while travelling in J the ISM has given me a set of PJs without asking...

I got 2 agnès b travel kit (male + female) before when I fly F.

I've done many things with the Pjs. Some I've kept and when I have too many of them in my collection, I've given them out to other people and I've even donated them to the Goodwill. I rarely wear the Pjs on my flights anyways as I prefer to bring and wear my own.

They make good gifts. They are high quality, IMO.

I still have a set before they want to the buttons down the front (c2004/2005) that has held up very well, despite frequent use and washings.

They make great dusters. When I remember to take them home I have mine cut up and used to polish the car.
