Is There Priority Security Screening for CX Passengers at LAX?
 

Flying out of LAX on CX in F. Is there a priority screening queue for premium passengers?

Bradley Terminal has a priority lane for all business and first class passengers from all airlines. Often crew and airport personnel use the same screening station where their line merges. The lane reaches a single check station next to the general line. The general line, while longer at times, has multiple screening stations, and is often a faster screening.

I have seen Quantas agents escort their FC passengers to the front of the line. I have flown CX in FC several times and they do not escort you through the line.

I flew QF F LAX-SYD on their A380 back in July and can definately confirm there were escorts. I was escorted not by one but two QF agents to the front of the queue. The last time I flew CX F ex-LAX was back in May 2007 and there were no escorts by the agents

Yes, they do have a special premium pax line in TBIA. CX does escort F and DM's to security checkpoint.

I was a DM for a year and took about 5 flights out of LAX and never got escorted. This was in 2009.

But when I was there in early Dec, the priority lane merged with the general line at some point. Not sure if that's the new arrangement or just an occasional thing

It depends on how long the lines are. If there are not too many passengers the two lines merge and there is only one person checking passports and BPs. When there are many passengers they have multiple people checking.
What usually happens is: The priority line is pretty short, but then crew and wheelchairs gets priority over the priority line, there is only one or two checkpoints for priority and many checkpoints for the regular line.

At the end you typically wait longer in the priority line than in the regular line. Also the new body scanners are at the priority lines. They are significantly slower, which does not help.

CX in my experience does not escort, but you get a voucher for the priority line. Same for LH. QF and LX escort.

Just came back from LAX yesterday. The priority line ridiculously slow! They now have a Family/Medication queue for security screening, and this line merges with the priority line! Yes, 2 lines merged into one security checkpoint.(Compare to the regular queue split into 2 security checkpoints.) That is, a whole family(2 adults with kid(s)) will merges with every priority passenger, plus they have extra diaper bags, strollers to screen.
