JAL changed JGC corresponding OW status on April 1 2010. So it's just possible CX ground staff wasn't aware of the change and thought JGC members are just OW Ruby? Did OW Sapphire got brought up during your conversation with the ground staff?

OT: We will just have to agree to disagree on whether JGC elite status is a permanent or not. As a loyal JAL customer, I only feel obligated to point out the potentially misleading info regarding JGC.
