Baggage Interlining
 
I have a CX award ticket (F) LHR-HKG-AKL and then a seperate AKL-CHC revenue ticket with NZ on seperate PNR's.

When I check baggage at LHR is it possible to for it to be interlined to NZ at AKL. Obviously I have to clear customs etc at AKL but can I then drop bags at desk after that or do I have trundle it along to the domestic terminal and recheck it with NZ?

Advice please.

Yes you can have your baggage through checked to CHC, since you are transferring to NZ you can also check-in at the international terminal. (clear customs in AKL)

You will have to collect bags at Auckland and clear customs with them. You should then be able to check them in for your domestic flight at a desk just after customs in the international terminal. If time is tight however they may refuse to accept them at that desk and ask you to take them and check them in at the domestic terminal.
