No F on SIN-->HKG and BKK-->HKG ?

Dear all,

Quick question : is that true that there is no F on any CX flights SIN-->HKG and BKK-->HKG ?

From CX website it looks like this is the case...

Thanks everybody for the help !

Regards,

El Puerco Volante.

You can't rely on there being F on any regional flights on CX. Even if it appears to be there when you book there's a good chance it will disappear in reality, and you've got no chance whatsoever of any significant compensation if the regional flight was part of the same ticket as a long haul F flight.

For the 744 leaving HKG at 11:20 (CX739), is this using one of the early-morning arrival aircraft from Europe (FRA/LHR)?

there is no F class on SIN-HKG direct flight

just checked. there is now. not when i flew last year.

there is still availability in F (at this moment at least) up to December 2010. I am hold a reservation but by the sound of it I should be expecting an invol downgrade any time soon

Short-haul F availability HKG-SIN

I have CX flights booked early 2011 (AMS-HKG-SIN-HKG-LHR) all in F.

CX F availability is limited on the SIN-HKG sector. I appreciate that a/c with F availability get swapped out of these sectors from time to time, but the impression gained is that this happens more ofter than not.

I would be interested to hear of recent pax experiences regarding the reliability of F being available on the HKG-SIN sectors. Should I just re-book regional J and avoid the disappointment?

Seems like MNL, of all places, is the most reliable.

Never understood that one.

I am booked SIN-HKG in F on August 16 so will report back on whether we actually get it! Considering the number of posters who would fly it I hope they reconsider it to match SQ at least 1x a day. I guess its the plane availability and yield again though...

There used to be a time when there was a reliable HKG-BKK F (744 first flight of the day, then continued to SIN, then back to HKG), but that's long gone.

Also a few reliable services (in addition to the above) to/from SIN. Also long gone. Now it's just sporadic. Interesting when SQ is running an A380 on the route. A CX bean counter has determined that it's not financially viable, obviously.

yes I remember those days although I was once in Y and got upgraded to J because of a 250 mainland China Group :) Lets hope that group starts travelling again :) Actually the flight I am booked on on 16 Aug "could" be the connector from Bangkok. Oh dear I'm starting to get far too optimistic here.....

I wouldn't exactly say it happens "more often than not" - I probably have about a 20% downgrade rate for regional F (excluding HKG-NRT, which seems in my experience to be much more consistantly a 3-class service). Still completely unacceptable, in my opinion, but not quite as bad as some make it appear around here.

Might it to some effect be the esteemed Asian Development Bank being HQed in Manila?

High pax volumes - need to run the 747s?

Hmm, I booked 2 F seats on CX 734 SIN - HKG. Looks like not many chances that I will get what I have booked... I feel that this is a very bad practice from CX to sell nonexistent F seats ! I mean, come on, sell C and in case there will be plane with F just upgrade some elites - would be far more honest. Anyway, I hope that I will have my F seats - other outcome would really put me off CX in future. Does somebody knows if there is a way to check what kind of configuration will be flown on this particular route on my dates ? Something like Emirates system...

Did you assign 3A and 3K on this flight? :) I'm also booked on CX734 SIN-HKG F and noticed 3A and 3K were blocked since last evening!

Wouldn't 1A and 1K be better for couples?
