Hong Kong to Cairns - Which A330 version?

Hi - a long way off, I know, but flying on CX103 from Hong Kong to Cairns in December in Business and can't find which version of the A330 flies the route. Does anyone know if it has the new style business class or the regional version.
Cheers

I believe CX has gone all 33Bs on Australian routes. Which means, yes, new style J class (herringbone).

I have just paid HK $13,000 for a K class RTN ticket on that route. That's over $1600 US for a flight even CX doesn't designate as being long haul. The least they can do is to get rid of their old 333's from the route.

surely anything would be better than those rubbish slippery slope seats in the "new Y" fitout. :D

US$1,600 isn't a lot of money for trans-oceanic return ticket, especially on a full-service airline like CX

I like the sly use of trans-oceanic....do HKG-TPE or HKG-NRT fit the bill too? ;). To me $1600 USD in Y for that route sounds high in an absolute sense (although I don't fly it, so have no idea how the price stacks up in reality), that's close to what you can get HKG-JFK for in H class.

Im not sure that I would call CX Y class to CNS 'full service' and in particular on the older, regional models of the 333.

Same for Dubai route

We keep on having the same situation on the Dubai route. Two flight a day. Book yourself a C ticket, so you can sleep on the plane and spend time during the day, and then:

On the DXB-HKG route no problem 23.30 dep., decent seats in a 33B.
But return at 00.30 a 330 with those seats that are so bad, the person responsible should have been fired. She is a known person and we have been promised new seats for how long now?

Welcome to the wonderful world of JetStar . You failed to mention how they look after passengers during irregular operations. But then again, no comment is consistent with their actions. A truely LCC - but then again, they are making money.

I knew what you meant, IMO I don't think CX is as 'full' as it used to be/can be/should be in terms of its service in Y.

How much for Jetstar then? ;)

HKD13,000 for K to CNS (rtn less than 7000miles in total?) is definitely overpriced for me! U book it through cx website or through agents?

For my trips to the Aust, usually I need to pay less than HKD7000 incl tax to SYD/MEL which rtn more than 9000miles (I did it for mileage-run occasionally as only the aust routes allow immediate return) for M/L/V class, and around HKD8800 incl tax to SYD/MEL for H/K class (so that i could use miles to do the upgrade).
