MPC question

Got a question in regards to the mpc, hope I can get some answers and insights! I did read through a previous thread, but am still confused.

Here's my problem/question: I'm planning on flying hkg-yvr-hkg by the end of this year, and am thinking of joining the mpc to enjoy some of the perks on this trip!

I understand that for moving up from green to silver, one needs to rack in 30k club miles in a 12 months period. Does the 30k miles need to be flying miles? And are asia miles considered to be flying miles?

I'm asking this because I can use some of my credit card points to redeem them for asia miles and ultimately have them count toward the mpc membership. If it helps, I'm already sitting with 40k+ miles in my asia miles account.

No they must be flying miles on oneworld airlines, in the correct subclasses.

Look at the asiamiles website, and look for the subclasses that earn miles on oneworld airlines, and those will count to your club miles.

Highlighted. Note that it must be a oneworld member for earning in MPC, not a "Partner airline" as in the Asia Miles website.
