CX685 Retimed

CX685 will be retimed from a 2-3pmish to an evening departure later this spring. Effective 3/28/2010, the flight will leave HKG 21:50 and arrive BOM 01:30 a day later.

Interestingly the flight via BKK (CX709) will continue to depart at 22:05, only 15 minutes later than CX685. Hard to imagine anyone taking CX709 over CX685 when the latter has the convenience of the nonstop. Only way someone will take 709 is if 685 is full.

would be interesting to know why they are making this change.....generally the afternoon flight is much more popular !

This is likely to be HK people going to BKK instead, and then CX picking up more BKK pax to BOM.

This change is because BOM-DXB is cancelled. HKG-DXB reduce to double daily rather than 3 daily.

Could also be for better connection for those pax coming off those daytime ex-YVR/SFO/JFK flights arriving HKG in the evening. Previously leaving at 2 or 3 pm means those NA originating pax have to endure an 8-9 layover to make the connection coming off the early morning transpacific arrivals.
