Redemption on BA

Hi,

I am hoping to redeem a flight SIN-LHR in CW on BA on the 12th of Jan with my MPO miles, but the MPO call center keeps telling me there are no seats available. Expertflyer shows tons of open seats in J class on both BA flights out of Spore that evening.

Does anyone of you know if there is likely to be a release of seats for redemption over the week end if the flight remains fairly empty? Or am I just waiting for nothing?

Thanks.

I get the feeling BA and CX dont like letting FF of the other programme on their flights using miles

I checked on EF for 12 Jan:

BA12: Cancelled
BA16: F7 A7 J0 C0 D0 R0 I0 W0 E0 T0 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0 G0

There is no J seat available. How do you expect award seats to be available?

I do not agree. At least on BA side,no problem to book awards on CX. Even via internet.

Policy changed ?
4 or 5 years ago, I easily booked Asiamiles award ticket of oneway BA F class(LHR-CAI) for starting my ex-CAI AONE3.

All airlines prefer customers to fly on their own metals, regardless of award or "revenue" passengers. That is not limited to BA and CX. However, there is no J seat available on those flights, even though OP said there were.

SIN - LHR route is one of BA's hardest to get availability on. Unless you are booking as far ahead in the year as you possibly can you won't find award availability. They can fill these planes with revenue pax ... so they do!
