1) There are less economy seats and more premium seats on 77A as compared to 74A so better op-up chances
2) Probably less GO/DM travellers on the daytime flight as they would be business travellers and more likely to take the night flight that only wastes 1 day instead of 2

BTW, this is the flight that's going to push me over from SL to GO. I wonder if I'll get an upgrade for that. In the past, I was upgraded on the flight (LAX-HKG) that first qualified me from GR to SL.

I never got upgrade for changing tier level. Depending on what time in March, you may have a good chance upgrading because of Rugby 7s.

That may well be the case for the Australian flights, but I highly doubt that event will affect loadings for the U.S flights as most Americans have little interest in Rugby.

Unfortunately you seemed to have missed one of the key points of F, which is that you eat whatever, whenever you want. You never have to "force yourself" to do anything - they will serve everything to suit you.

And if the passenger likes, the SP can wake him/her up for the meal.

You would not believe it. If things remain the same as previous years, the flights around Rugby Sevens will be very full. That is the time when even MPC GR can potentially get upgraded, especially for the SFO flights. I do not know if people really care who win. They just want to party. Try the pubs on LKF in late March!

I don't know if it was op-up for tier change or just full flight. Could have been either, but the flight was full.

I am travelling about a week before Rugby Sevens.

I am making a connection in SFO from AA to CX. This is my first time transiting through SFO, usually I go through LAX.

I land at Terminal 3, is 2 hours comfortable for a transfer with some time left over to spend in the lounge before boarding?

Should I take the AirTrain between terminals or just walk it?

Yes, very comfortable.

Doesn't matter. Take it just for fun. It is a short walk.
